Roses are red, violets are blue
Greenies are green, and say I love you!
Just thinking about the one you love gives you the warm fuzzies. That soft coat, happy tail, wet nose and unconditional affection is all you can ask for! It’s love!
Our fur friends make the best Valentines for us and the biggest gift to them is just the pleasure of your company. But if you really want to spoil them you may want to know the facts. While we humans enjoy delicious goodies and treats of all sorts for Valentines, many of them are actually detrimental to our pets!
Chocolate is a big no-no, so while you indulge just make sure to keep the confectionery out of your pet’s reach or you risk elevated heart rythyms, vomiting, diarrhoea, seizures and even cardiac failure and coma. Lollies or sugar-free sweets can also cause bad reactions with a toxic ingredient called Xylitol.
Flowers may be attractive to your pet, however certain flowers, such as lillies, are extremely poisonous to cats and Geraniums are toxic to dogs. So make sure to keep those pretty arrangements out of paw’s reach or risk a very sick pet and a trip to the emergency.
So, you love your pet and want to get them something special to say “I love you!” Well, it’s not rocket science to know that the way to our furry friend’s hearts is through their stomachs and we have the perfect treats that will do the trick! So, let’s have a green Valentines Day!
